Selangor opposition leader appointed PAC chairman

SHAH ALAM: Opposition leader in the Selangor State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Rizam Ismail has been appointed as the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for the state.
The announcement was made by Selangor Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari at the State Assembly sitting today.
Also appointed members of the committee were the State Assemblyman for Bukit Lanjan Elizabeth Wong, Kota Anggerik Assemblyman Mohd Najwan Halimi and Mohd Shaid Rosli the Assemblyman for Jeram, who are all from PKR.
Also appointed were Sungai Pelek Assemblyman Ronnie Liu, Kampung Tunku Assemblyman Lin Yi Wei from the DAP and Saari Sungib from Amanah.
Rizam was appointed following the statement by Amirudin yesterday that he was prepared to give the post to Rizam because according to the regulations of the Selangor State Assembly, the post is automatically held by the opposition leader. — Bernama
