Man's charred body found in burning car on Sultan Iskandar Highway

KUALA LUMPUR: A man was burnt to death when the vehicle he was driving was believed to have caught fire and skidded at the Sultan Iskandar Highway heading to Seremban from Sentul near the Parliament Building here early today.
Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman said in the incident at about 3 am, the charred body of the victim was found inside a Nissan Grand Livina vehicle.
He said the department received a distress call at 3.54 am and deployed two engines from the Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue Station with nine personnel to the scene.
"Upon arrival, we found the victim's car was on fire and the firemen took several minutes to douse it.
"In addition, the firemen also took several minutes to extricate the victim's body stuck in the driver's seat which was 90% charred," he told Bernama.
Khirudin said the identity of the victim had yet to be identified and the department had handed over the victim's body to the police for further action. — Bernama
