Medical head in sexual assault probe suspended

PETALING JAYA: The head of an orthopaedics department, who was accused of sexual harassment and bullying of female housemen, has been suspended for two months from work from yesterday.
Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad (pix) today said investigations had revealed that the doctor made sexual advances towards 38 people since 2009.
"The decision was made by SPA (Public Services Commission) in a meeting on Sept 14. This is to facilitate further investigations," a news portal qotied him as saying at a news conference here.
"The ministry will also start an internal probe next week and the report will be submitted to SPA, for them to decide if the doctor's service will be permanently terminated."
