Isa only candidate to vote at PD by-election

PORT DICKSON: Independent candidate Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad, was the only candidate for the Port Dickson parliamentary by-election who voted today.
The former Negri Sembilan mentri besar performed his duty at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Linggi here at 11.15am, accompanied by four children, Mohd Najib, 40, Megawati, 37, Lelawati, 34 and Juhaida, 29.
Mohd Isa, 69, wearing a red, orange and yellow striped white shirt and black pants, took about 15 minutes to perform his duty after queueing up with other voters.
Earlier, his four children voted at the polling centres at the Linggi Community-Based 'Cahaya Insan' Rehabilitation Centre, Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Baru and Sekolah Kebangsaan Port Dickson.
The SK Linggi polling centre was among the 32 polling centres opened from 8am today to enable 68,317 registered voters to fulfill their responsibilities.
Meanwhile, PAS candidate Lt Col (R) Mohd Nazari Mokhtar, who was also present at the school to view the voting process, called on voters to come out to vote.
"We hope today many people come out to vote seeing the weather is good, come out early if possible as it may rain in the afternoon," he said.
Apart from Mohd Isa and Mohd Nazari, the Port Dickson parliamentary seat's by-election is a seven-cornered fight, with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim representing Pakatan Harapan (PH) and four independent candidates including Anwar's former personal assistant, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.
The parliamentary constituency has 75,770 eligible registered voters in the by-election this time, comprising 43% Malay, Chinese (33%), Indians (22%) and other races (2%). — Bernama
