PORT DICKSON: Only less than a quarter of the voters in Port Dickson have fulfilled their responsibilities three hours into polling.
According to figures provided by the Election Commission (EC), the voter turnout stood at 34% as of 12pm.
The EC had previously targeted a turnout of 70%, with Pakatan Harapan (PH) also predicting a similar figure.
Port Dickson has a total of about 75,770 registered voters, with 7,191 of them having already cast their ballots during early voting on Tuesday.
The turnout for the early voting was also quite low, with only a 63% turnout.
The Port Dickson seat fell vacant after PKR's Datuk Danyal Balagopal Abdullah vacated his seat to make way for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to contest.
Meanwhile, Anwar said he was quite happy with the progress of voting at the polling stations so far this morning, but noted that the momentum in some areas were still slow.
"I think we have to encourage more people to come out early to vote," he told reporters when at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Kg Baru Si Rusa polling centre at Bagan Pinang, here, this morning.
