Cops arrest suspect after Persiaran Tropicana shooting
PETALING JAYA: A 35-year-old man suspected to be involved in Monday's shooting at Persiaran Tropicana, Kota Damansara here has been arrested.
Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din said the suspect was arrested at 7pm on Monday at Tropicana Indah to facilitate the investigations into the shooting of another 35-year-old Sarawakian who survived the incident.
"Police have obtained a four-day remand order on the suspect starting yesterday," Mohd Zani said.
The shooting took place at 4.50pm when the victim had stepped out of a convenience store after buying cigarettes and the gunman confronted him before opening fire with a handgun.
Mohd Zani said witnesses told police that the gunman escaped in a white car soon after.
The victim was taken to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre by a friend and is reported to be in stable condition.
