Moderate earthquake rocks northern Sumatera

KUALA LUMPUR: An earthquake of 5.1 magnitude rocked northern Sumatera at 12.29 pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.
It said in a statement that the quake occurred at a depth of 10km about 70 km north-east of Meulaboh, Sumatera.
The quake did not pose any threat of a tsunami to Malaysia, it added. — Bernama
