JOHOR BARU: The widow of Mohd Fatah Hashim, a 34-year-old fireman who was drowned during a search and rescue mission in Taman Putra Perdana, Puchong, Selangor, earlier this month, will be helped to get her own home.
Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Osman Sapian in a Facebook posting said that Noor Nadia Kamaludin, 29, had informed him that her husband was planning to get the family a new home to live comfortably.
"I will help facilitate the acquisition of a PPR (People's Housing Programme) home for them and provide training, skills and a job opportunity for Noor Nadia so that she can support the lives of her two children Nur Medina Aisya, 3, and Muhammad Meqa Al-Asyraf, 1," said Osman.
Prior to this, Foreign Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, who is also Indera Mahkota MP, had met with Mohd Fatah's family members in Kampung Baru Beserah near Kuantan, Pahang, and said that Noor Nadia, who is renting a home in Klang, Selangor, wished to return to her hometown in Kulai, Johor, and own her own house.
On Oct 3, six members of the Fire and Rescue Department's Water Rescue Unit including Mohd Fatah drowned during the search and rescue operation for Muhammad Ilham Fahmy Mohammad Azzam, 17, who was feared missing in a mining pool. — Bernama
