KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) today postponed indefinitely its hearing on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) with former Auditor-General Tan Sri Ambrin Buang as a witness.
The PAC decision was announced by its chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee, in a statement. Ambrin was to have given a statement today in the proceedings on the re-investigation of 1MDB.
Kiandee had been reported as saying that Ambrin, named as a witness in the re-investigation of 1MDB, was the auditor-general when the National Audit Department conducted the audit of the national strategic investment company.
Ambrin had submitted a report to the PAC of the 13th Parliament in March 2016.
The PAC has also postponed, to 2.30pm on Nov 14, the proceedings on the claim for arrears in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) totalling RM19.4 billion which was scheduled for tomorrow. — Bernama
