ALOR STAR: Police have arrested a man who pointed a knife and threatened to kill his mother at their home in Kampung Jeram, Kulim near here today for refusing to give him money to buy drugs.
Kulim police chief Supt Ahmad Nasir Jaafar said in the 7 am incident, the 19-year-old asked his mother, aged 47, for money but she refused.
“A quarrel broke out. The son then grabbed a knife and threatened to kill her and shouted coarse words. Frightened, the mother ran out of the house.
“Fearing for her safety, she lodged a report at the Sungai Karangang police station and the youth was arrested at their home at 10.45pm,“ he said in a statement. — Bernama
