PPBM, Pas to meet over next general election: Muhyiddin

PUTRAJAYA: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) is to hold discussions with PAS soon to forge cooperation in the preparation for the 14th General Election, due by June 2018.
PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said today PAS had agreed to the talks and that the date for the meeting had been set.
He said Pakatan Harapan, which comprised DAP, PKR and Amanah, had invited PPBM to a meeting with its leaders soon.
"We have to have meetings to discuss the suitable form of cooperation," he told a press conference after a PPBM special general meeting to elect members to the party supreme council, here.
Muhyiddin announced Datuk Seri Muhkriz Tun Mahathir as the PPBM deputy president and named the three vice-presidents as former Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman, former Perak state executive councillor Datuk Hamidah Osman and legal practitioner Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari.
He also named Ainina Saadudin as the chief of the Puteri wing and Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman as the head of the youth wing. — Bernama
