Bruce Weber to be honoured at The Fashion Awards 2016

BRUCE Weber is set to receive the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at The Fashion Awards 2016, it has been announced.
The British Fashion Council will award the US photographer and cinematographer the honour for his "erotic and risqué but always uniquely stylish portraits", according to a press release.
"Bruce's endurance is testament to his pure talent, his undeniable creativity and his singular warmth and generosity," said British Fashion Council Chairman Dame Natalie Massenet. "His expansive body of work in photography and film is iconic, and he himself is rightly an icon of the creative fashion community. He is one of the foremost photographers and creative talents of our age who has helped shape the fashion industry we know today and I have a great deal of admiration for him."
Weber first broke into the fashion industry in the 1970s, with his signature black-and-white work appearing in GQ Magazine, followed by a Calvin Klein campaign featuring Tom Hintnaus. The intervening years have seen him shoot campaigns for Pirelli, Ralph Lauren and Versace, and his images have appeared in Elle, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, Vogue, and many others. An Oscar-nominated director thanks to documentaries including Let's Get Lost and Broken Noses, Weber has worked on music videos, exhibitions, and published over 37 books.
The award sees Weber following in the footsteps of fellow photographer and video artist Nick Knight OBE, who won the accolade in 2015, stylist Edward Enninful, who was the 2014 winner, and creative consultant Lady Amanda Harlech, who took home the trophy in 2013.
Weber will be presented with the honour at the awards ceremony on Dec 5, to be held in London's Albert Hall. The ceremony will hand out awards across nine different categories focusing on both British and international talent in the fields of designing, branding and modelling, alongside a series of special recognition prizes. — AFP Relaxnews
