The great adventure

GREAT Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia) Berhad (Great Eastern Life) recently kick-started The Great Adventure at Menara Great Eastern in conjunction with the sponsorship of The Amazing Race Asia Season 5.
A total of 26 teams were selected from different walks of life to compete in the race, similar to the Amazing Race Asia. Participants were supposed to accomplish a set of physical and mental tasks in the shortest time, from the starting point at Menara Great Eastern to the final stop at Sunway Pyramid.
According to Great Eastern Life, the contest was initiated to inspire Malaysians to turn their health intentions into action by adopting a lifestyle that will benefit them both physically and mentally. Reinforcing this statement was Great Eastern Life director and CEO Datuk Koh Yaw Hui.
“I always say that living healthy need not be expensive and boring. In fact, the greatest issue is discipline as many may have healthy intentions but fail due to the lack of discipline. With this race, we have created a reason for them to turn their intention into action. This race is free and the Amazing Race Asia brand is very attractive among Malaysians,” Koh said

Echoing the same sentiment is Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Mhd Amin Nordin, who flagged off the race with Koh.
“I believe this is an opportunity for KLites to gather and participate in creating a healthy urban society. This contest can create public awareness on the importance of both good health and emotional stability. We support such events and recommend other entities and agencies to organise more of such events,”Mhd Amin Nordin said.
The Great Adventure will be held in Johor Baru and Penang on Nov 12 and Nov 19 respectively. For more information, please visit the AXN Asia website.
