BUTTERWORTH: About a tonne of fish were strewn all over the North-South Expressway (NSE) here after a lorry carrying them turned turtle at KM130.6 of the highway near here.

The lorry was heading towards Alor Star, Kedah, after departing from Penang in the 10.20am incident.

The driver was believed to have lost control of the vehicle before the flipping over near the Sungai Dua toll collection complex.

Both the driver and the lorry attendant suffered minor injuries and were sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for treatment shortly after.

NSE concessionaire PLUS issued a slow-moving traffic advisory on Twitter shortly after the incident.

Slow moving northbound traffic caused a traffic snarl which stretched for about six kilometers.

North Seberang Perai district police chief ACP Azmi Adam confirmed the incident and said that investigations were being carried out under the Road Traffic Rules 1959.
