HSA fire detailed report out in two weeks

JOHOR BARU: It will take another two weeks to get a detailed report on the fire which broke out on the second floor of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) on Oct 25, here, which killed six patients and triggered the evacuation of hundreds of others.
Johor Health and Environment committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat said once the report is ready, it would be submitted to the Cabinet.
Speaking to reporters after launching the mini carnival Sungai Skudai program at Taman Tampoi Utama here today, he said, the initial investigation report has been presented to the Sultan of Johor this morning.
Asked on the initial findings, Ayub said he was not in a position to disclose.
"The Health Minister will make the announcement after the detailed report is submitted to the cabinet," he added.
ICU patient S. Suppamah, 65, a former factory who suffered burns on most parts of her body and face is still in coma at Sultan Ismail Hospital.
She was initially warded in Sultanah Aminah Hospital where she was put under the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for heart ailment.
