Hole-in-heart girl needs financial help for surgery

TELUK INTAN: A four-year-old girl who has a hole in her heart is seeking public donations to finance the cost of her medical surgery which is estimated to be RM18,000 at the National Heart Institute (IJN), Kuala Lumpur.
According to her father A. Prakash, 33, his eldest daughter P. Kirtiiga was diagnosed with the disease since birth at the Teluk Intan Hospital, here.
"Every twice a month, my daughter should be brought to the Teluk Intan Hospital for follow-up treatments as the hole in her heart has reached 3cm in size.
"Therefore, the doctor has fixed Dec 12 for her to undergo surgery at IJN. However, until now we have only been able to save about RM1,000," he told Bernama at the Rubana estate Deepavali celebration which was officiated by Pasir Salak member of Parliament Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman here today.
At the event, Tajuddin who is Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Deputy Minister donated RM5,000 to Kirtiiga's family as well as presented assistance in the form of electrical appliances to 100 estate residents.
Prakash, whose wife T. Rajawveni, 32, stays at home, works as welder at Teluk Intan town only earns about RM1,200 monthly.
