PETALING JAYA: Poultry company DBE Gurney Resources Bhd’s unit DBE Poultry Sdn Bhd has renewed its contracts worth RM50 million with KFC (Peninsular Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and QSR Stores Sdn Bhd for the supply of poultry products.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia last Friday, the group said the renewals are effective from Jan 1, 2017 to Dec 31, 2017. The agreements are expected to generate a turnover of about RM50 million for DBE Gurney, it added.
“We are pleased to continue our partnership with the retailers, who have been a reliable partner in support of our company’s evolving business needs and growth strategies,” the group’s managing director Datuk Alex Ding Seng Huat said.
“Our commitment to supply high-quality poultry products to the industry will continue to be an emphasis for the retailers,” he added.
Ding said the contract renewals are expected to continue providing sustainable turnover with an assured margin to the group for the next financial year ending Dec 31, 2017.
“This augurs well with the company’s intention to increase its market share locally and sustain its business competitiveness,” he added.
DBE Gurney has a feedmill production capacity of 9,500 tonnes a month, six breeder farms with 100,000 chickens a year, six sets of incubators with 12 million eggs a year, 11 broiler farms with 12 million chickens annually and a processing factory that has a capacity of 1.5 million chickens a month.
