IT’S that time of year again when Starbucks brings back its much-anticipated holiday beverages for a limited time only, along with its special Holiday Blend coffees, new F&B offerings and an exclusive and attractive selection of curated merchandise, ideal for the festive giving.
FAVOURITE TASTES AND EXPERIENCES
Starbucks Malaysia and Brunei managing director Sydney Quays says he is honoured that Starbucks is part of its customers’ yearly holiday traditions in Malaysia. “I’m delighted that the holiday season has arrived at our stores again,” adds Quays. “It’s a special time at Starbucks with tastes and experiences that inspire our partners and customers.”
Every year-end Starbucks’ customers anticipate the arrival of seasonal beverages, returning favourites and new handcrafted beverages to celebrate the best of the season. This year, in addition to the returning favourites – Peppermint Mocha and Toffee Nut Crunch Latte – Starbucks introduces its holiday season handcrafted beverage, the flavourful and whimsical Starbucks Teavana Red Ribbon Green Tea Latte.
SPECIAL BEANS AND BLENDS
The Holiday Blend is also back to the delight of Starbucks’ coffee fans across more than 60 countries around the globe. For this year, Starbucks ages rare Sumatra beans for five years to develop a cedary, deep and earthy flavour, and combines it with robust beans from Asia-Pacific and Latin America to offer a full-bodied coffee that pairs well with a variety of seasonal savoury and sweet foods including Starbucks Holiday Popping Cake.
In Malaysia, customers can explore an added option alongside Starbucks Signature Espresso Roast – the deeper, darker, handcrafted Starbucks Holiday Blend Espresso Roast. Customers who prefer a lighter roast can opt for the Starbucks Holiday Blend Blonde Roast which offers a more subtle flavour profile.
RED HOLIDAY CUPS IN THE HOUSE
Back every year-end are Starbucks Red Holiday Cups towel come and signal the arrival of the holiday season. Since 1997, Starbucks has welcomed the holiday season with the arrival of these special red cups that celebrate the spirit of the season and add merriment to the festive time. While every year designs change, this 2016 sees the first for Starbucks to feature designs created by customers.
In support of creativity, Starbucks held a contest, taking cues from its customers to use their red holiday cups as a canvas and shared their designs on Instagram. A total of 1,200 individual submissions were received from participants from 13 countries, resulting in 13 customer-designed red holiday cups that will serve more than 25,000 Starbucks stores across 75 countries. Starbucks Malaysia fans will be served in six of the 13 designs.
This festive season, Starbucks also presents a wide range of attractive Starbucks holiday gifts comprising ceramic mugs, traveller double wall ceramic mugs, double wall and vacuum sealed tumblers, holiday ornaments and festive boy and girl Bearista Bears.
