Police seize over 1.2kg of syabu worth RM156,000

KOTA KINABALU: Police detained three men and seized 1.206kg of syabu (methamphetamine) worth RM156,000 in two raids over the past two days.
Kota Kinabalu Police chief ACP M. Chandra said the first suspect, aged 50, was picked up at Jesselton Point at 10.10am on Wednesday.
"Police found seven packets of syabu weighing 351.47g hidden in his motorcycle," he told reporters here today.
Subsequently, a police team from the Kota Kinabalu Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department raided a room in the Api-Api Centre area yesterday and found 13 packets of syabu weighing 660.71g and RM43,000 cash.
"Two other men, aged 42 and 45, believed to be his accomplices, were detained at a massage parlour around the area at 2.30pm on the same day," he said.
Police also found four plastic packets of syabu weighing 194.10g when they raided an office in the Karamunsing Complex, he added.
Chandra said the police also seized a Toyota Vellfire, Toyota Vios and a bicycle from the suspects.
"Initial investigations revealed that the methamphetamine was brought from peninsular Malaysia.
"We believe we have crippled an active drug syndicate in Kota Kinabalu with the arrest of the suspects," he said, adding that it was the biggest seizure by the department so far this year. — Bernama
