PETALING JAYA: Ampang PKR youth chief Datuk Adam Rosly (pix) said he is more than willing to declare his assets if the party orders him to do so
However Adam questioned the need for him to declare his assets considering he does not hold a public position.
"I am just a leader in a political party, I don't hold a position in the local council (Ampang Jaya Municipal Council) or the state government, so why should I declare my assets or reveal my source of income to them (Umno Sungai Besar division chief Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos)?
"However, I will gladly declare and reveal my wealth down to the very last cent if there is a directive from the party requesting me to do so, but until then everything will remains as it is," Adam said during a press conference earlier today.
His wealth came under the spotlight after Jamal chartered a helicopter to fly over his bungalow in Ampang, which subsequently gave rise to questions on his supposed luxurious lifestyle.
Adam also denied that he is a proxy for Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali or Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin.
"I would like to stress that I am not Zuraida's special officer nor her personal assistant, I am just the youth chief for Ampang and the relationship I have with Zuraida is merely a working relationship, nothing more.
"Furthermore, I do not understand why everything that happens in Selangor has to be associated with Azmin. I would like to pose this question to Jamal," he said.
When pressed by reporters, Adam declined to divulge details of his business stating that it was a private matter and those businesses might be affected if he revealed details.
"If Jamal really wants to know how I got rich then I suggest that he meet me so that I can teach him some business skills!" he quipped.
Adam said he is also well aware that an NGO linked to Umno had lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission against him.
He said he would extend his full cooperation to the authorities if required.

Adam also added that he does not rule out the possibility of initiating legal action against Jamal or Ampang Umno division chief Ismail Kijo for false accusations and slander once all the investigations are completed.
