Ronnie Liu arrested ahead of Bersih 5 rally

PETALING JAYA: DAP leader Ronnie Liu is the latest person being held by police a day before Saturday's Bersih 5 rally.
According to DAP Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng, the former Pandamaran assemblyman had been arrested at Kuala Lumpur police headquarters (IPK Kuala Lumpur).
"Ronnie is arrested in front of Bukit Aman by IPK KL for attempting to riot tomorrow. I was with him moments ago," said Lim tweeted at 6.11pm today
Just an hour before, Bersih 2.0 chairman Maria Chin Abdullah and its secretariat officer Mandeep Singh were picked up by the police from the Bersih office and taken to the Petaling Jaya police district headquarters.
Earlier the same day, DAP's Seremban MP Anthony Loke was arrested by officers from Bukit Aman to be questioned over a speech he made during Pakatan Harapan's convention last Saturday.
Police have also questioned Klang MP Charles Santiago of DAP over his participation in two Bersih 5-related functions in Klang.
Meanwhile, the Red Shirt's leader Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos is reportedly missing.
It was reported Jamal was supposed to attend a Red Shirts gathering with some 100 supporters at the National Mosque here this afternoon and was scheduled to hold a news conference after that at 2.30pm but failed to turn up.
At press time, theSun's attempts to contact the Sungai Besar Umno division chief have been unsuccessful.
However, a media invite sent out later this evening stated that Jamal would be at the national mosque at 10pm.
