Unruly Red Shirt participant arrested

KUALA LUMPUR: The latest in a spate of arrests involving rally provocateurs has seen one more Red Shirts demonstrator being detained by police at Jalan Dang Wangi this afternoon after an attempted assault on a Bersih supporter.
It started when some Red Shirt supporters in the vicinity were shouting at yellow supporters nearby, chastising them for supporting the Bersih movement.
Tensions escalated when the red shirts began insulting the yellow supporters but the police were quick to step in and prevent a fracas.
The police escorted the red shirted heckler to one of the police trucks parked nearby.
This further angered the red shirts who yelled at the police to stop the yellow shirts from walking past them.
A scuffle took place but the police got everything under control and calmed the situation.
