Puteri Umno to debate on issues to empower young women

JELEBU: Puteri Umno is positive that every motion on political, economic, religious and social issues to be presented in the 2016 Umno general assembly at month's end, will be geared towards the empowerment of young women in the country.
Puteri Umno chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said so far they had selected the speakers to represent each state.
"This time we are focusing on preparations to face the 14th general election (GE14) including Puteri Umno preparedness for the election at the grassroots, in addition to the debate on social, political, economic and religious issues.
"We are also preparing the debaters and state representatives for their role as spokesperson through workshops and this is the third workshop to be organised," she told reporters after opening NS Nature MTB Jamboree 2016 here today.
On Puteri Umno's membership drive, Mas Ermieyati said enrollment had been increasing and this should be intensified after Puteri Umno lost many members following the maximum age limit of 35 for the wing's membership. — Bernama
