64-year-old cyclist killed in hit-and-run accident

NIBONG TEBAL: A 64-year-old man was killed in an apparent hit-and-run accident early this morning.
South Seberang Prai district police chief SUPT Shafee Abdul Samad said the victim was identified as Harun Md Shariff from Sungai Bakau, Nibong Tebal.
He said Harun was cycling from Permatang Keling heading towards Nibong Tebal when he was hit from behind based on the damage inflicted at the back of his bicycle during the 7.34am incident.
He said the body of the victim has been sent to Sungai Bakap Hospital for post mortem.
As of now the police are still identifying the type of the vehicle that was involved in the accident as there are no eyewitness during the incident.
The case has been classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
