Six Bersih leaders, one Red Shirt leader released today

KUALA LUMPUR: Six Bersih leaders and a Red Shirt leader who were arrested on Saturday over illegal rallies in the city have been released today.
They were PKR vice-president and Batu MP, Tian Chua, Seremban MP, Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Ampang MP, Zuraida Kamaruddin, Pasir Pinji state assemblyman Howard Lee Chuan How and activists Fahmi Reza and Hishammuddin Rais.
Also released were Red Shirt leader and Umno Youth Exco member Datuk Armand Azha Abu Hanifa.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa when contacted by Bernama confirmed their release but declined to comment further.
Those still detained were Bersih chairman Maria Chin and Red Shirt leaders Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos and Ariffin Abu Bakar.
A total of 20 leaders and activists were arrested since Friday in connection with illegal rallies by Bersih and Red Shirts on Saturday.
Yesterday, Rusdi said eight Bersih committee members and activists and two Red Shirt activists were released. — Bernama
