Animal feed scatters on highway as lorry collides with tour bus

IPOH: Twenty nine tour bus passengers had a narrow escape when the bus they were travelling in collided with a lorry carrying animal feed at KM238.3 on the north bound lane of the North South Expressway in Kuala Kangsar yesterday.
The 44-year-old lorry driver identified as M. Muraly from Simpang Pulai was thrown out of the vehicle after the lorry skidded and plunged into a ravine on the side of the highway in the 7.20am incident.
Personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department were summoned to the scene to bring him out of the ravine.
The 32-year-old bus driver, Ronald Neo Hai Han, from Malacca, escaped unhurt.
Perak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Wan Jamil Wan Chik said the bus was heading to Penang from Genting Highlands when the collision occurred.
Several bags of animal feed from the overturned lorry was also found scattered on the road.
