THE Marc Jacobs Beauty brand has unveiled a new image from its campaign with Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford's daughter. Wild, feline, and charismatic, the young model has confirmed that she has all of the qualities to follow in her mother's footsteps.
At 15 years of age, Kaia Gerber has everything it takes to be a major player: a fact that has not escaped the attention of certain fashion brands, including Marc Jacobs Beauty which has made the young model the face that will represent its makeup range in 2017. Following an announcement in September, the news has been substantiated by series of images, and will further be confirmed by a forthcoming video.
For its latest campaign, Marc Jacobs will remain true to the eccentric style associated with the fashion house. Kaia Gerber is presented sporting voluminously curly and wildly flamboyant red hair. Whereas a previous image showed the teenage model with black eyeliner and a radiant complexion, this photograph emphasises more colourful makeup. Thick lines of blue eyeliner, which echo blue stripes on the sleeves worn by Kaia Gerber in this image, play a key role in this look.
Shot in a New York studio, the photographs for the campaign are the work of David Sims, with makeup by Diane Kendal.
At just 15 years of age, Cindy Crawford's daughter has already conquered the world of fashion with her natural and charismatic manner. This latest contract with Marc Jacobs Beauty could be the first in a long list to come.
"I'm so excited and honoured that my first beauty campaign is with Marc Jacobs, an icon in the fashion industry. I'm obsessed with his beauty products, and like everything else he does, Marc Jacobs Beauty makes you feel feminine and playful," exclaimed Kaia Gerber when the partnership was announced.
Solo and with Cindy Crawford, the young model has not only already made the cover of numerous magazines, she has also posed for such major brands as Chrome Hearts, Alexander Wang, and more recently Miu Miu. — AFP Relaxnews
