Security guard claims trial to 11 counts of raping girlfriend's daughter

GEORGE TOWN: A security guard claimed trial to 11 counts of raping the 14-year-old daughter of his girlfriend at the Sessions Court today.
Meazmande Latiff, 38, is accused of committing the offences at an apartment in Jalan Teluk Kumbar between Aug 20 to Nov 12 this year.
He appeared before Sessions Court Judge Roslan Hamid for six counts of rape allegedly committed between Aug 20 to Nov 5 this year.
Meazmande was then brought before Sessions Court Judge Irwan Suainbon where he was slapped with another five charges of raping the girl between Sept 3 to Nov 12 this year.
Both Sessions Court Judges did not grant bail for fear of witness tampering, as the accused lives in the same apartment as the victim.
Meazmande was not represented while Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Huda Idris and police Prosecuting Officer Inspector Marysia Maklin appeared for the prosecution.
