Police urge those with information on man who was beaten with bamboo stick to come forward

PETALING JAYA: Police have urged those with information of an incident where a man is seen in a video footage being beaten repeatedly with a bamboo stick to come forward.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar called those with any knowledge of the incident to contact the police.
"I hope the members of public can cooperate with the police. We too can't identify where the incident took place, who is the suspect and the victim," he told reporters after receiving 10 units of Kawasaki KLX250 motorcycles sponsored by Felda Global Ventures at Bukit Aman.
There is another man in the 51-second clip wearing a Bersih T-shirt but he did not take part in the assault.
The victim, believed to be a foreigner, can be seen trying to ward off the blows, screaming and pleading with the assailant.
"We welcome any information from the public to assist the police," said Khalid.
It is not known what caused the altercation or when the incident took place.
The source of the video is also not known.
The viral video drew outrage from netizens with many asking for the police to step in and investigate.
