Strong earthquake strikes Banda Sea, Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR: An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale occurred in the Banda Sea, Indonesia at 9.13am today.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department in a statement today said the epicentre of the quake was 323km northwest of Kupang, Indonesia and 1,371km from Sarikei, Sarawak.
