KUALA LUMPUR: Rapid KL will stir up a drama involving some people getting into a fight and passengers held hostage on board a train on a monorail route here Saturday.
The situation will create a ruckus, especially after a power failure causes the train to stop between the Maharajalela and Tun Sambanthan stations, raising anxiety among passengers which leads to a fight.
In the fight, the monorail train captain and other passengers are injured.
In a statement today, Rapid Rail chief executive officer, Datuk Zohari Sulaiman said the drama was part of an Emergency Response Plan (ERP) simulation exercise series conducted by Rapid KL and emergency service agencies.
He said the simulation was to test the staff understanding and competency in handling an emergency situation, in addition to testing the effectiveness of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) flow.
"All steps taken during the simulation exercise will be conducted, according to the SOP to ensure rescue and evacuation of passengers are implemented safely and swiftly.
"We need to ensure that the SOP is up-to-date and the training is also important so that we can test if all equipment functions properly in the event of an emergency," he added. — Bernama
