Nu Sentral supports Nasom

NU SENTRAL, under the aegis of corporate social responsibility, launched a campaign in aid of the National Autism Society of Malaysia (Nasom).
The campaign called “Be There For Autism” is aimed to encourage the mall’s stakeholders, its tenants and shoppers gain awareness and donate money in support of the association.
FUND-RAISING CAMPAIGN
The campaign was launched in October running from the festive seasons of Deepavali and Christmas, right up to Chinese New Year in 2017.
All 100% of proceeds will go towards Nasom in support of its autism intervention, care and support services to children from low-income families and less fortunate backgrounds.
The public are reminded that Nasom is dependent on donations and contributions and operates solely from monies and funds received through this avenue.
MALL WITH A HEART
Nasom chairman Felina Muhd Fisol shared that the organisation has seen a 30% increase in rendering its service across all age groups in recent years. In order to meet these service needs, increased resources and funds are required.
“We were thrilled when Nu Sentral approached us on this campaign featuring real faces of autism ... We want to be seen as a transparent and approachable organisation as we find that then, parents of autistic children under our care, will also be open enough to expose their children to the real world,” Felina said.
OPPORTUNITY TO DO GOOD
Posters of cute autistic children are placed all around Nu Sentral as part of the mall’s fund-raising drive. Nu Sentral general manager Victor Wong was only too happy for the mall to be part of this campaign.
“As a shopping centre in a strategic location adjacent to Malaysia’s busiest transport hub – Stesen Sentral Kuala Lumpur – Nu Sentral has the tools and resources to contribute to the continuing growth of Nasom.
“We hope that this campaign will raise maximum funds through generous donations from our stakeholders and also inspire the public to connect and bridge the gap with autistic individuals.”
