GEORGE TOWN: Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's information officer has lodged a police report over a message alleging Lim of supporting the action of Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi against the Rohingya.
The message reads, "Aung San Suu Kyi's action against the Rohingya is spot on. Malaysia has no right to get involved as it is considered interfering with Myanmar's administration."
The information officer, Zaidi Ahmad, said he had received the message about 5.30pm on Wednesday (Dec 14), therefore he came to lodge a police report today to refute such allegations.
He said Lim did not make any statement over the matter.
"Lim did not ask any related authority to send such message.
"I hope police will investigate it thoroughly," Zaidi said outside the Northeast district police headquarters in Jalan Patani.
The former Air Force pilot added the message not only had caused prejudice on Lim but it was also tarnishing his credibility as the chief minister of the state.
