Alam Flora worker crushed to death by moving truck

KUALA LUMPUR: An Alam Flora worker from Myanmar was crushed to death by a garbage truck that his friend was driving at an apartment building in Cheras today.
The victim, Nurul Amin Abdul Kajur, who carries a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) card died on the spot after he sustained severe injuries.
City Traffic Investigation Department Chief, ACP Nadzri Hussain said the accident occurred at 8.20am while the victim was loading garbage onto the truck.
"When the driver backed up the vehicle the victim was still at the back of the lorry, the driver had slammed the breaks but the vehicle continued to glide behind hitting the victim and dragging his body along the road," he said.
He also added that during the incident, there were two other workers who were also collecting rubbish at the time.
Nadzri said police will record statements from the three other Alam Flora workers including the driver of the truck.
