New police chiefs for three states

KUALA LUMPUR: Police announced that three states will receive new police chiefs (CPO) following a reshuffle in the police force today.
Federal police head of corporate communications ACP Datin Asmawati Ahmad said federal police Crime Prevention & Community Safety department (JPJKK) deputy director (strategic planning) Datuk Wira Chuah Ghee Lai was promoted to commissioner and is the new police chief of Penang.
She said he takes over from Commissioner Datuk Abdul Ghafar Rajab who will assume his new post as the director of the federal police Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS).
Malacca police chief Datuk Ramli Din was also promoted as commissioner and will report for duty as the new Sabah police commissioner.
Deputy police chief of Kedah DCP Datuk Abd Jalil Hassan is transferred to Malacca to take over from Ramli and helm the state police force.
Federal police Strategic Resources and Technology Department (StaRT) deputy director III SAC Sahabudin Abd Manan who rose a step up as deputy commissioner of police (DCP) reports as the new Kedah deputy police chief.
A total of 22 high-ranking police officers were involved in the reshuffle and promotions and were posted to state police headquarters, overseas detachments and other police departments.
