Accused in Kevin Morais murder jailed 2 years for disposing evidence

KUALA LUMPUR: An accused in the murder trial of the late Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Kevin Morais was jailed two years for disposing evidence related to the case.
G. Gunasekaran, 48, was sentenced by Sessions Judge Azian Othman after he pleaded guilty to a charge of hiding Morais' body and disposing a vehicle with the registration number WA6264Q.
Morais who was reported missing on Sept 4, was last seen leaving his condominium in Menara Duta to go to his office in Putrajaya in the Proton Perdana which was subsequently disposed off by the accused.
The judge ordered for the sentence to run from the date of arrest on Sept 15, 2015.
Gunasekaran along with R. Dinishwaran, 24; A. K. Thinesh Kumar, 23; M. Vishwanath, 26; Nimalan, 23; and Ravi Chandaran, 35, are on trial for the murder of Morais.
They are alleged to have committed the offence between 7am and 8pm on Sept 4, 2015.
Dr. Kunaseegaran, 53, claimed trial to abetting the six in the commission of the murder and the hearing continues before High Court judge Datuk Azman Abdullah.
