Two killed, 14 hurt in eight-vehicle crash

IPOH: Two people were killed while 13 others were injured in an eight-vehicle pile-up at Km369 of the North South Expressway (southbound) along the Tapah-Tanjung Malim stretch today.
The deceased, a man and a woman, were from one of the four cars.
The other four vehicles are a tanker transporting hydrochloric acid, a lorry loaded with tyres, a lorry carrying fish and a timber lorry.
Perak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Wan Jamil Wan Chik said one of the lorries travelling from the south skidded and veered into the opposite lane before it crashed into other vehicles at 3.30pm.
The accident caused a massive traffic jam on the stretch of the highway.
