Strong earthquake strikes Banda Sea, Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR: An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale occurred in the Banda Sea, Indonesia at 8.17am today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department said the epicentre of the quake was 456km south west of Ambon, Indonesia and 1,718km south east of Semporna, Sabah.
However, the quake did not pose any tsunami threat to Malaysia. — Bernama
