Johor Police seize drugs worth RM350,000

JOHOR BARU: Police seized various drugs worth RM350,000, and detained two suspects in Pasir Gudang on Tuesday.
Johor Narcotics Criminal Investigations Department chief Assistant Commissioner Lukas Aket said the two suspects were arrested along the Pasir Gudang highway at 8pm on Dec 19, and they then led the police to a house in Masai.
Police seized 3.5kg of Ecstasy powder, 0.99gm of cocaine (syabu), 9.25gm of cannabis (ganja) and some utensils for the processing of ecstasy.
The raid was carried out following tip-offs from the public, and police believe the suspects have been active in the local market for several months.
Lukas said the duo, who have several previous criminal records on drug abuse, were being remanded until Dec 26.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,which carries the death sentence on conviction, he added.
Police are also looking into whether the suspects have connections with drug syndicates.
