SERDANG: A woman fell to her death while escaping a police raid launched in search of a suspect for an undisclosed case at a shophouse in Jalan Bandar 12, Pusat Bandar Puchong, here.
Serdang district police chief ACP Megat Mohamad Aminuddin Megat Alias said the woman was attempting to escape through the back door of her rented unit on the second floor when she fell at about 9pm on Tuesday.
He said police had raided the place in search of a crime suspect.
"She landed on the first floor and died on the spot," Megat Mohamad said yesterday.
Post-mortem results revealed that she died from a broken neck, he said, adding that the woman was an Indian national in her 30s, and was renting the unit with a man in his 40s.
"We advise the public not to speculate on the case," he said, adding that the case has been classified as sudden death.
