KUALA LUMPUR: The Defence Ministry has instructed the RMAF to suspend its Beechcraft B200T aircraft operations following yesterday's incident in which a pilot was killed and three other officers injured when the plane they were in crashed at Butterworth airbase.
Its Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, said the three remaining aircrafts are currently based in Subang and were used for maritime patrol for search and rescue missions.
"I take this opportunity to send my condolences to the family ... it's too early to give the (incident) details. I also support the call by the newly appointed air force chief that his main agenda is to ensure the safety of his members including making an audit of all its assets," he told a press conference after opening the Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS) building at his ministry here today.
