A festive treat

THE Greyhound Café Malaysia, located in the trendy Bukit Bintang area of Kuala Lumpur, is embracing this holiday season with a menu it has named Festive Lover.
Available until Jan 31, the menu features five mains, two desserts, and two drinks, with each item bringing a fresh flair to a traditional dish.
Take for example the traditional turkey which has been given a couple of Greyhound twists.
The first is the turkey pita pizza (RM30), which embodies all the traditional holiday flavours but in a new presentation.
It’s a closed pizza filled with roasted turkey, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese and chillies, and dripped with a raspberry sauce.
Next is the crispy braised dark meat turkey (RM58), served with French fries, homemade sauerkraut, mustard and jaew (a dried chilli) sauce.
Sweet, savoury, and spicy with a bit of a crunch, this dish gives a truly Thai flourish.
Taking it a step further is the spaghetti with turkey meatballs (RM32) in a tasty thick tomato sauce, which combines exquisite Italian flavours with turkey meat to create a dish that is deliciously sophisticated.
For something different, there is lamb shank massaman and mash (RM55), a massaman curry cooked with tender broiled lamb shank and served with mashed potato and cucumber salad sticks.
This delectable ensemble is as hearty as it is delicious. Each morsel of lamb falls off the bone in a puddle of its own juices.
Finally, there’s the traditional turkey Greyhound style (RM48), a roasted turkey with stuffing served with smooth mashed potato in a homemade gravy, buttered peas and cranberry sauce.
This makes a perfect holiday meal – complete, wholesome, and delightful.
For desserts, there is the Christmas Tree Delight (RM22). Imagine puff pastry layered with light cream, and a pile of fresh strawberries assembled into a Christmas tree. It sounds sinful, and is as luscious as it is a sight to behold.
Or opt for the lod chong pannacotta (RM15), a union of traditional Thai and Italian dessert. Cool and moderately sweet, it is a flavourful fusion that is unlike any other.
For the perfect drink, try the Jingle Jelly (RM12), a refreshing and aromatic creation of pandan leaf and butterfly pea flower jelly. The resulting drink is sweet, with subtle refinements.
Or the Merry Mellow (RM16), a smooth, sweet, and refreshing mix of blueberry, lychee, and lime smoothie that is perfect for a hot day.
Diners can also choose from Greyhound Café’s other signature dishes such as Greyhound famous fried chicken wings (RM18), fried tons of crabmeat rice (RM55) or the fresh coconut crepe cake (RM22).
