13 individuals found to be involved in Daesh militants in Pahang

    PEKAN: Thirteen individuals were found to have been influenced by the Daesh militant ideology and involved in its activities in the state so far, according to Pahang Police chief Datuk Seri Sharifuddin Ab Ghani.

    He said of the total, five were from Jerantut, three from Kuantan, two from Maran and once each from Pekan, Temerloh and Raub.

    "Pahang Police view this case seriously and will take stern action to curb the threats of Daesh militants in the state," he told reporters after attending the Pahang Police Contingent's monthly assembly and the launch of the new Pekan District Police headquarters here today.

    Meanwhile, Sharifuddin also reminded all police personnel in the state to be in the state of full preparedness to help the people facing floods during this monsoon season.

    "Annual leave for all officers and staff had also been frozen until January next year with exception for those with emergency cases, but they too, will be immediately recalled if major floods hit," he added. — Bernama
