KUALA LUMPUR: The stork kept Kuala Lumpur Hospital staff busy as 13 babies were delivered in the early hours of the New Year.
Second-time parents, businessman Tamaki Lim Beng Kuan and wife Kuan See Yan named their newborn son Lin Bowmen, which means "Happy and Strong" in Mandarin.
"There were no complications except that I felt a slight stomach pain and was rushed here by my husband," Kuan said.
She added their son was overdue by eight days and weighed 4kg.
Zunairah Mohd Nawawi and Hanzlah Othman named their newborn son Ahmad.
"I am grateful that the birth didn't require surgery as I had to undergo a C-section for my first child. Ahmad weighs 2.9kg," a beaming Zunairah said.
In GEORGE TOWN Maggie Quah, 23, was planning to watch the fireworks display in Seberang Prai but had to cancel her plan when she experienced pain.
"We arrived at Penang Hospital at about 3am and I was sent straight to the labour room", she told reporters when met at the maternity ward of the Penang Hospital today.
Her son, who weighs 3.3kg, was born at about 6.22am on New Year's day.
