Terengganu floods: 798 evacuees as at 10am

KUALA TERENGGANU: The number of flood victims in Terengganu has increased to 798 this morning from 355 victims at 10pm last night, after low-lying areas were inundated early today following continuous heavy rains.
The evacuees from 212 families are being sheltered at 12 relief centres in the four districts.
The Social Welfare Department through InfoBanjir application said Besut district recorded the highest number of evacuees with 474 victims at six relief centres.
In Hulu Terengganu, 210 victims are now seeking shelter at three relief centres followed by Dungun (84 victims) and Marang (30 victims).
Residents from several areas in Kemaman are in the process of moving into nearby relief centres. — Bernama
