KUALA LUMPUR: Despite the slight drizzle around the capital city this morning, parents were seen rushing to send their children to school as early as 7am.
Sadness, joy, boredom and fear were some of the mixed emotions shown by Year One pupils as they stepped into class on the first day of school today.
However, to add excitement and make it a less daunting experience for them, some schools had fictional superhero characters to engage with the children.
In four states namely Terengganu, Kelantan, Kedah and Johor the 2107 school session started off on Jan 1.
However, the school session for several schools in Terengganu, Kelantan Johor had to be postponed due to the floods and tidal waves.
