NADMA: North-East monsoon to prevail until end-March
KUALA LUMPUR: The current North-East Monsoon, which brings heavy rain to the east coast of peninsular Malaysia, is expected to prevail up to the end of March, according to the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma).
It advised people living in flood-prone areas to obtain the latest information on the floods from authorised sources.
"Nadma advises people in flood-prone areas to keep their important documents safe and be prepared always to evacuate on the instruction of the authorities.
"Local authorities in all the states are advised to take proactive measures and be prepared to activate operations rooms once instructed to do so," it said in a statement.
