Art of Vaastu & Feng Shui - Keep luck flowing

FENG SHUI today has evolved into a tool to fine-tune our aspirations in life, and also to activate specific aspirations.
Wealth, health, fame, career and love are the essential and integral parts of our daily life, and feng shui can help to enhance the prospects of such needs.
In fact, our immediate surroundings have a great impact on many aspects of our lives.
The study of aligning your space to ensure that the occupants are not affected by an imbalance caused by these elements – by locating suitable sites, rooms, positions, placement of doors and windows through the adaptation of vaastu or feng shui – is the key to a good home or office.
In modern-day town planning studies and layouts, it would be a little too difficult to locate sites which would meet the traditional requirements, but one needs to look out for surroundings and buildings which do contribute to the quality of the qi.
Everything in the universe is energy. All life forms, including humans, give off subtle electrical fields that affect vital functions such as growth, metabolism, health, thought, emotions and movement.
At the quantum level, the human body is composed of ions, minerals and water, and is a conductor of electrical energy. Hence, harmonising the living space is of vital importance.
When adapting traditional feng shui principles, one should try to overcome afflictions from hostile environments and directional orientations.
Other elements around the building to look out for include the surrounding plot and soil, as well as the alignment of fixtures like the main doors and windows, kitchen hobs, or the positioning of bedrooms and toilets.
Also, one should observe the orientation of the work desks in office, as well as the placement and allocation of rooms, and auspicious areas for the staff and management within the offices.
Feng shui also reminds us that in order to be prosperous, we need to be healthy. One way to achieve this is to benefit from the surrounding energy or qi.
The proper orientation of your kitchen – especially the stove – can have a big influence on your health and finances too.
According to feng shui principles, the stove is your ‘wealth generator’. It is the most important symbolic factor in your ability to prosper financially, so make sure it works properly.
Any problems with the stove can indicate problems with money, or limitations to your ability to bring home a good income.
A burner that doesn’t heat could be a sign of fruitless effort, and an oven that runs too hot could be burning up your money and your physical energies too.
Dirt and grime are also signs of negative energy, so be sure to keep your stove-top and oven clean.
Energy keeps changing every minute. Temperature changes, solar energy and magnetic fields, all have been found to have a strong influence on the human mind and body.
Over a period of time, it’s quite common to accumulate things which could contribute towards creating blockages and stagnation not just in your personal life, but even your career.
Feng shui mitigates that such obstacles need periodic fine-tuning and re-alignment, to ensure that any time period-based afflictions or man-made blockages can be identified early.
This is to ensure that the flow of qi in the home or office is able to enhance the feng shui of the place for the occupants.
