Despatch rider killed at traffic light intersection

KUANTAN: A despatch rider was killed after a car crashed into his motorcycle when he stopped at a traffic light intersection at Jalan Tanah Putih-Jalan Wong Ah Jang, Kemunting here early today.

Kuantan police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh said Mohd Nazreen Bahari, 24, died on the spot due to serious head injury in the crash which occurred at 3.30am.

The incident occurred when Goh Kah Chun, who was at the wheel of a BMW car, lost control of the wheel and crashed into the victim, who had stopped at the red light intersection, before crashing into a used-car shop, Kam Yun Auto Enterprise, he told reporters here.

Abdul Aziz said four cars in the shop – a Naza Bestari, a Perodua Viva, a Honda Civic and a Proton Gen2 – were also damaged in the incident.
He said Goh, 44, from Indera Mahkota 1, also injured his head in the crash and was sent to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) here for treatment. — Bernama
