Petrol pump attendant charged with dishonestly using DPP's credit card

ALOR SETAR: A petrol pump attendant was charged in the Magistrate's Court here today with two counts of dishonest misappropriation of a credit card belonging to a deputy public prosecutor.
Muhammad Syazwan Abdul Halim, 20, however, pleaded not guilty and claimed trial to the charges.
On the first count, he was charged with dishonestly using the Maybank credit card to purchase a Samsung J7 Prime handphone, costing RM1,221, at Kedai Best EH Enterprise here at 2.11pm last Dec 26.
He was also charged with dishonestly using the credit card to purchase a Samsung J1 handphone, costing RM488, at the same place at 8.22pm on Dec 23 last year.
Both the charges were made under Section 403 of the Penal Code, which provides an imprisonment for up to five years and whipping, and is liable to fine, upon conviction.
Magistrate Mohd Khairul Hafizuddin Ramli set Feb 5 for mention to enable Muhammad Syazwan to engage a lawyer.
